Buenos Aires, January 26 (NA) – President Javier Milei arrived today in Mar del Plata amid a crowd that welcomed him at the entrance to the Hermitage Hotel, where he entered minutes before heading out with the militants of La Libertad Avanza as part of the “Tour of Gratitude.” “President, president!” chanted the head of state’s supporters behind the security cordon, while from another, also large sector, they shouted “traitor to the homeland.” Some scuffles with police occurred during Milei’s welcome from opponents of the president, but the incidents did not escalate. Amidst a tight security operation that could not prevent contact with the people, Milei got out of the official car in his classic black jacket, smiled at the protesters and even signed t-shirts. The delegation that accompanied Milei and the Secretary General of the Presidency also included the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, and the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello. “Olé, olé, olé, olé, Javo, Javo,” his supporters chanted as they cheered the president’s arrival before singing the national anthem. “You’re scared, the kukas are scared!” the officials taunted the opposing protesters who were also chanting slogans against the president. The head of state will head tomorrow the Derecha Fest, an event that brings together representatives of the libertarian and conservative spectrum. Milei is also scheduled to attend the performance of “Universal Fátima,” the show that his ex-partner Fátima Florez presents at the Roxy Theater in Mar del Plata as part of the summer season.
